The safe cosmetics act was introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives, this bill aims to help regulate manufacturing and labeling of cosmetics. Most women use cosmetics on a daily basis and their content and safety should be clearly addressed.
Through research I have found that there may be a number of toxic ingredients in cosmetics and beauty products you may want to check labels for and avoid.

Through research I have found that there may be a number of toxic ingredients in cosmetics and beauty products you may want to check labels for and avoid.
These are some of the top offenders:
- MEA/TEA
- Sulfates
- Synthetic Polymers
- Synthetic Colors
- PEG
- Ureas
- Parabens
- Formaldehyde
- Quats
And the list goes on.........perhaps checking labels and being more selective on the products we purchase is a simple way to start cleaning up our make-up bags, there are a number of wonderful organic products on the market available at local health food stores and the internet. I found a few good sites that sell organic make-up and cosmetics and love it! I have personally converted to all organic hair color and am continually seeking better, safer products. I know the clean up will take time and patience, but living environmentally friendly to the earth, my clients and myself are worth the effort. This is clearly a personal choice and simply for informational purposes.
Here are the links to my favorite organic cosmetic sites and legislation.
Go Green!
