If you have curly hair you know the challenges of caring and styling your hair to perfection. Most non-curly haired people always compliment our lovely locks in envy, little do they know the steps involved to our daily regimen.

Here are some tips from our top curly-hair professionals on how to style and manage your locks like a pro. Always remember that most naturally curly hair has a tendency to be dry, so shampooing daily is not a good idea.

Try to shampoo your hair as sparingly as possible, when you do wash your hair use moisture and emollient rich shampoos to infuse conditioning in the hair.

Second you should use an intensely rich moisturizing conditioner and do not use extremely hot water to rinse your hair, cooler water helps to seal the outer layer of your hair known as the cuticle, thus allowing for more reflection of light, which means less frizz and more shine.

Do not towel dry your naturally curly hair, blotting and squeezing the hair between a non-fuzzy towel works best, the less you manipulate the wet hair the more defined your curl pattern will be.

Always apply a pomade/silknectar mixed with curling crème (by MaternitySalon hair care) as a defining curl cocktail. Allowing hair to air dry for a while allows the products to seal the cuticle even more, gently dry the root area with low heat and continue to scrunch hair, fast and furious heat and airflow will result in big, frizzy hair, slow and steady works best.

Always remember the products control the curl pattern, with the right serums and crèmes you will find amazing control and gorgeous locks.
